A Remote Type Thermal Flow Meter is a precision instrument used to measure the mass flow rate of gases (primarily) using the thermal properties of the fluid, with the sensing element and transmitter physically separated for remote monitoring and control.
Working Principle:Based on thermal dispersion: a heated sensor and a temperature sensor are placed in the gas stream.
The amount of heat carried away by the gas is proportional to its mass flow rate.
In remote type models, the sensor is installed in the process line, while the transmitter/display unit is mounted at a distance, connected via cable.
Measures mass flow directly—no need for pressure or temperature compensation.
Typically used for gases (air, nitrogen, natural gas, CO₂, etc.).
Remote display allows safe and convenient access in hazardous or hard-to-reach locations.
Digital output signals (e.g., 4-20 mA, pulse, Modbus, HART).
Gas flow measurement in industries: oil & gas, chemical, HVAC, semiconductor, and wastewater.
